So last night 6 members of new era ventured to bathurst to play at panthers just to change things up a bit, now from what i seen bathurst would be in trouble if the proposed bathurst Vs Orange event ever eventuated.
Now this is how you bust out in 2 hands in bathurst, i was the small blind UTG raises a 1000 with one caller action rolls around to me and i look down at Ace Queen of spades, sensing that UTG had low to med pockets i raise 7k to try and isolate UTG but should have known better as i was in bathurst and they do play any two cards big blind commits him self all in and the initial caller also put them selves all in along with UTG, sensing i was up against atleast a Pocket Kings or Aces, i was amazed when the cards rolled over. UTG had exactly what i expected Pocket Jacks but the other 2 i was surprised at the initial caller had Ace Jack os and the big blind turned over A dirty King 10 os, no prizes for guessing who won, thats right King 10, the worst hand pre flop, hit the 10 on the turn and king on the river to send the UTG and initial caller packing lucky for me i still had around 8k in chips left
now having not played a except for my blind for about 10 mins and being moved to another table, blinds have increased to 1000/500, so im big blind have 3 limp ins including SB so i look down at my cards and see Pocket aces. so i put my last 6k in chips in UTG hesitantly folds his low suited connectors and the rest fold around to the small blind who called me out of "Boredom" turns over queen jack os, sensing the inevidable he hit runner runner jacks to take me out, so if this is how bathurst players roll they wouldnt even come close in the event
other noteable hands that got cracked with shit were
darren morris pocket queens and jacks cracked by 5,8 and and 9,7 respectively

Man, what a sad sad bad beat story. Team BigNuttz (Bathurst) would love you to venture down this way more often, we could really help you put together a nice collection of bad beat stories. Something for you to talk about with your other Orange mates as you stand at the bar absolutely bewildered and looking on at the BigNuttz dominated final sixteen...just hoping, wishing , maybe next week...maybe
you can probably count on both hands the number of players that call all ins and significant with shit hands that early in events but i was seeing it every where i looked down there, maybe it was a off night, but what was the chances hey? like i said if thats the standard you all have set in bathurst, then the winners off the orange bathurst event is a no-brainer, Orange would have you bathurst folk bent over the previbial sink handin your asses to you on a platter, i really hope this event gets rolling soon
what were u even doing playing aces in bathurst man u set ur self up lol harsh though man to cheer u up watch this http://flipperwalsh.blogspot.com hitler's downfall
I've been donked every fucking single time I go to Orange. Ask Thor, he can vouch for me. I bubbled last week at the NPL cashgame, got 2nd at the freeroll tonight with AKos against 68os. After hitting the Ace on the flop he got running 8s for the win and my 2nd place. Another scenario; UTG raises to 700 (blinds 100/200), the action goes:
Seat 2 fold
Seat 3 call 700
Seat 4 fold
Seat 5 (me) raise to 1700 (with pocket Aces)
Seat 6 goes all in 1650
Seat 7 fold
BB+SB fold, Seat 1 folds, Seat 3 calls.
Seat 6 shows KTos and Seat 3 shows J7os.
No J, K, 7 or T on the flop... but turn T river K gives the nooby guy the monster pot.
I have more. Plenty more. These are all at Orange. If you say "well that's NPL" I'll tell you some corker APL bad beats I've had in Orange.
So think about criticising the players rather than the towns... speaking in generalisations always ends up in ridiculous flame wars. Being said, I'm still keen to fly the Team Bathurst flag and I guarantee our best vs your best will be heavily tipped in our favour.
Also, if you knew anything about poker percentages, you'd know that AJ was in no way the worst hand there, KT was actually only a few percent behind your own AQ in that first bad beat story. (I haven't run the numbers on any kind of generator but just think about it.) Preflop, AQ is dominating AJ, as is JJ. AJ has its A dead from your hand, and two of its Jacks dead from the pockets. It needs a straight or flush to win as it cant hit a jack or an ace. It would need AAJ on the flop, or some combination of straight/flush cards (two of which are definitely dead in KTos) and nothing short of a miracle. KT was not in as bad a shape as it in any way (though still a poor call by rights) as the AJ.
Also you seemed pretty confident in your dominatable AQ there. I might have made the same move with that hand hoping to race, but with everyone calling an UTG raiser you had to be at least a little scared of AK, QQ, KK, AA right?
Try to make more reads on the flop/turn than preflop... they'll be much more accurate. You put the UTG raiser on mid pockets, good call, but their range of possible holdings were so much bigger than that, (AK would make that same raise, no?) And when there's a multi-way pot between more than 3 players, make sure you (at least attempt to) read everyone because if you're only focusing on the original raiser then there's probably more to the pot you're missing.
hey stylez, thanx for the info, but in all honesty my read was right on all the players, i didnt expect to see a King ten Off suit rolled over though, i dont care that i lost my chips it was more of some of the calls that were going on down we were seeing them everywhere, one player called 3 all in with 6 8 off suit on pipes's table, im just saying that it seems the better overall quality is in orange
im not mad with the aces getting cracked they do all the time 4 me anyway, i was ahead when all my chips were put in, but i would love to play these guys if money was on the line, i think i would come out a rich man
but this is just some info on hands i layed down sunday night pre flop to significant raises and all ins
Ace jack twice
ace queen once
pocket jacks
and pocet 9's
