APL needs to pick its act up

Whats goin on with the APL of late? They havent been correctly updating the leaderboards on a weekly basis, the results from last tuesdays Royal Hotel event still havent been posted, you have players playing more events then actually stated on the leaderboards, and finally they havent paid New era member and regional champ Craig Piper his money for winning the regional finals, something that was supposed to be done over a week ago! Get your act together guys, you are starting to make the NPL look professionally run!

Royal Domination as James Mann claims victory

In a golden night for new era, where 6 members made the final 8 and 4 finished in the top, James "Ace" Mann captured the title, defeating Chris "the Sensation" Mauler heads up. In a dominating display of poker james could do no wrong even when behind pre flop the cards would fall in his favour, there for handing the sensation his first heads up loss in APL history.Well done James and all the new era crew on a great night and once again re-inforcing the fact that we are the best poker team in the region

Craig "Pipes" Piper Claims regional honours

Craig tonight won his first ever poker event and what an event to win, gunning down some of the regions finest on his way to the title. In a longer then normal heads up play, craig played faultless poker and was unlucky on several occasions not to take the title earlier, finally craig was dealt pocket 8's hit a set on the flop and Quads on the turn to seize the title, in a titanic battle.
Congratulations Pipes from all of New Era poker crew a much deserved win

How to lose 15k in chips in two hands Bathurst style

So last night 6 members of new era ventured to bathurst to play at panthers just to change things up a bit, now from what i seen bathurst would be in trouble if the proposed bathurst Vs Orange event ever eventuated.
Now this is how you bust out in 2 hands in bathurst, i was the small blind UTG raises a 1000 with one caller action rolls around to me and i look down at Ace Queen of spades, sensing that UTG had low to med pockets i raise 7k to try and isolate UTG but should have known better as i was in bathurst and they do play any two cards big blind commits him self all in and the initial caller also put them selves all in along with UTG, sensing i was up against atleast a Pocket Kings or Aces, i was amazed when the cards rolled over. UTG had exactly what i expected Pocket Jacks but the other 2 i was surprised at the initial caller had Ace Jack os and the big blind turned over A dirty King 10 os, no prizes for guessing who won, thats right King 10, the worst hand pre flop, hit the 10 on the turn and king on the river to send the UTG and initial caller packing lucky for me i still had around 8k in chips left
now having not played a except for my blind for about 10 mins and being moved to another table, blinds have increased to 1000/500, so im big blind have 3 limp ins including SB so i look down at my cards and see Pocket aces. so i put my last 6k in chips in UTG hesitantly folds his low suited connectors and the rest fold around to the small blind who called me out of "Boredom" turns over queen jack os, sensing the inevidable he hit runner runner jacks to take me out, so if this is how bathurst players roll they wouldnt even come close in the event
other noteable hands that got cracked with shit were
darren morris pocket queens and jacks cracked by 5,8 and and 9,7 respectively

Orange Vs Bathurst event

Now ive started the poll this is a place where you could voice an opinion on how it could work. Would it be the top 16 players from each town in the region at the time or maybe a "captain" from each town selects a team of 16 or something along those lines. I think if the APL can do this for this region it would be great it could settle alot of old scores, maybe put up some state champ tickets or even a cash prize because this region does seem to get neglected in some aspects of a major event, so post your opinions even though i expect bathurst players to avoid this as they know 1) they are inferior players (lol) 2) they wouldnt travel further then kelso to play if it ever eventuated

New Era continue its great run

Lastnight at the royal team new era continued its good form with mat cox finishing second and chris mauler 3rd and curtis mann 8th, in what was an interesting final table mat just fell short of victory but it was seeming inevidable that he would lose as it didnt matter what 2 cards the winner had she would hit, wayne selwood flew the flag for the opc again finishing 5th and one would have to wonder if it wasnt for wayne and ian kenny would the opc even be competitive
